Firstly, I think one should reserve judgement until one sees the person in an episode. Secondly, I think Cassidy is amazing as Tess.
Thirdly, I looked up Miriam Lahnstein and I don't think she would have been at all right for the role.
Fourthly, I think Kristen Bell is quite busy narrating Gossip Girl and with all her other films and tbh I don't think she would make a great Tess but she is a fabulous actress anyway!
