  • Candy Hearts (PG-13) Romance

    Title: Candy Hearts
Author: Daddylion (aka Hollywood Recycle Bin)
    Pairing: Chloe/Lana
    Rating: PG-13
Warnings: This fic contains homosexual contents and some words kiddies shouldn't know the meaning of.
Spoilers: Set in season 2 but no spoilers
Short summary: Chloe and Lana usually aren't big fans of Valentines Day
    Word:619
Author's Note: This short little piece was written in a game of fic prompting. The prompts were "The Talon" and "Hearts"

    Candy Hearts
    By Hollywood Recycle Bin

"Hmmm these are good" Chloe said as she popped more of the artificially flavoured, totally unhealthy candy into her mouth.

"Take as many as you want." Lana said defeatedly "Even if I don't get any late gifts, there'll be more next valentines day."

Chloe looked up at the sad note in her best friend's voice. She looked around at the Talon, it was full of chocolate, candy, roses and balloons. "Josh loves Lana", "Gary + Lana" "Eric <3 Lana 4ever", various declarations were scattered all around the room along with some pretty embarrassingly bad love poems. There were even some jewellery boxes which Lana refuses to even look at. Thank god it was closing time or Lana would have to navigate the customers around this maze of gifts.

"I've never gotten half this much stuff for Valentines Day in my whole life" Chloe said, a hint of jealousy in her voice.

"Yeah, getting cliche gifts with fake sentiments from people you don't know who doesn't know you flooding your room every valentines day... It's a girl's dream." Lana replied bitterly.

"At least you know you're popular and liked" Lana didn't reply, just continued with that tired look. Chloe looked at all the strings of candy hearts on her lap. An idea occurred to her and after biting an "F" off one of the strings, she placed the candy on the counter and grabbed a pair of scissors. "Come here" she ordered Lana as she cut the elastic strings off the candy. She smiled at Lana's careful but curious look.

The brunette sat down on opposite side of the counter, it was weird seeing Lana in front of it instead of behind it. "What are we doing?" she asked.

"Oh nothing, just restringing these candy heart bracelets," she said as she took some strings out of her purse that Lana never knew she carried around. “A reporter is always prepared” she explained before taking the first string, she took the "Lana" out of the "Josh loves" one and took the candy beads out of a few other strings. She placed the beads from the other strings onto the first bracelet and then showed Lana her masterpiece.

"Josh loves cock" it proclaims in various coloured hearts. Lana laughed, her face brightening in a way Chloe rarely sees. "Nothing like possibly offensive gay jokes to make a teenager laugh" she said with a smirk. Lana replied by grabbing her own string and playing around with it.

"Jeremy & Larry <3 rim jobs" The string was long on this one and Chloe gave Lana an impressed look. "You know what a rim job is? You're not as sweet and innocent as you seem Miss Lang?"

Lana attempted a devious look and Chloe felt heat rush through her. She turned her eyes away from the other girl and went back to the strings and hearts.

"Thank you" Lana said after a while.

"You're welcome," Chloe replied. She was on her fifth string now and wondering if Lana knew what the money shot and felching was.

"You said you never really got that many valentines day gifts right?" Lana said and Chloe wondered why she would bring it up again.

"Yeah, actually I only got one from Clark in 8th grade. Other wise it was usually me giving it to someone... someone I hardly know who hardly knows me. That was before Smallville really, just some stupid kid crushes"

"Well, I know you." Lana said and handed Chloe a string. Chloe looked up to see what it says.

    "Lana loves Chloe"

Before Chloe could reply, Lana was kissing her, wet and sweet and Chloe thought it was the best Valentines day present she had ever gotten.

    End

The insight into Lana's Valentine's day was wonderful. I love all of those strange boys sending her gifts and how it contrasts with Chloe's Valentine's Day.

I loved Lana handing Chloe the "Lana loves Chloe" string. Warm fuzzies.

I'm afraid to look up "money shot" and "felching." I think I'll let it stay a mystery.

ginnyfan- thank you glad you like the string confession. And yeah, i always thought with all those meteor freaks stalking lana and so many people wanting her that she'd get lots of stuff on Valentines Day. Thank you so much for the comments

Batman- Thank you, i'm glad you like it too. For some reason, even though i'm not a big fan of fluff, i have no problem whatsoever chlana fluff

I found myself enjoying this fic., and wonder if it had anything to do with the Chlana fluff? I had no idea you could write fluff so well... still a little on the smutty side, but soft and sentimental nonetheless. Better still, Lana makes first moves... not so common.

Thank you samanta Novak, I'm glad you like it too. I wish i could have written something longer but that's pretty much all i could get out. I suck at finishing fics as you know.

Thank you Smallville_Angel i think i like to write fluff more than i read them. And i love it when Lana makes the first move, she always does in my mind when it comes to chlana. The only time Lana didn't make the first move in my fic was in Secret Life and in Break.

Daddylion, if you enjoy writing fluff more than you do reading it, does that mean there'll be more fluff on the way? *gets down on knees and begs* Please, please, please.

I don't know about fluff but I only have one final paper left and the term's over and I had a chlana story I started that i thought i might continue when i'm done with classes this term. I dunno if it'll ever be finished though, there's a lot of unfinished projects on my computer.

You and me both... I finished uni. 3 weeks ago, have 2 weeks of break left, and multiple unfinished projects lying around... guess I ought to get myself back into the swing of things? Just take your time and we'll be looking forward to your fics. whenever you can get back.

Thanks wow, you finished uni huh? lucky you... i think i might end up being in one for 5 years instead of 4 (if not more), i'm not good at handling lots of classes so i've been taking this slow. I'll be in my senoir year next semester, i feel like i'm behind everyone.

I wish i could finish all the projects i haven't finished. My secret life series gets updated like once a year lol. Still not finished. And there are 2 supernatural fics as well, not to mention other SV femme projects. I think i even wrote a peter pan fic a long time ago but abandoned it.

Ohhhh, so so sweet and fun and romantic A short story but so emotional. I saw in it everything - jealousy, sadness, bitterness, fun and, of course care and LOVE I love how you showed that even if you're getting all this presents from people you don't know, it didn't mean anything. That even if all those unfamiliar people tell you they love you, it doesn't mean it's a true feelings. That better if you get one present from a special person, than all this nothing-meaning gifts from people who love you only on words And the end - oh, I LOVE it Quite unexpected but so sweet and desired FANTASTIC story I already waiting for a new one

ps - You must forgive me that I hadn't posted my comment earlier. Forgive me forgive me forgive me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read your story long ago, but each time I came on this forum, I forgot about my unposted comment. Finally I post it, sorry it took too long
