Tried to rewatch this a while back and couldn't make it through. It was too painful to watch. In the past, I've accused "Bound" (due to the judgemental and sexist nature of that episode) of being the worst SV episode. But, this has to be the worst. At least "Bound" had a murder mystery. This is a Lana-centric episode (with her having seven minutes more of screen time than Clark and Lex), which revolves around her wedding day and her being uncertain about going through with it. The episode features the return of aunt Nell, for the first time since season 2, which is a definate minus (guess the Devil finally had enough of her. He just couldn't take another day and threw her out of hell).
Lana learns Clark's secret. A reduntant task, as she had already figured it out by the previous episode. Speaking of the previous episode, there Lex uncovered that Chloe was meteor infected. Had her kidnapped, tagged and then tried to kill her and all the other people tagged. Yet, here she is as Lana's maid of honor, at her wedding to... the very man who had Chloe kidnapped, tagged and tried to kill her last episode. The whole thing feels very disconnected. By all logic, Chloe should be in hiding. Instead, she's here. Which is ironic, as she's concerned about Lana marrying Lex. If she wanted to prevent it, she could've just not shown up. Lana has been shown to be extremely insecure. In "Scare", her worst fear was people leaving her. So, if her friends don't show up to her wedding, thus showing that they disaprove of the upcoming marriage, Lana would've called off the wedding in a flash.Comment
