Good point Drakaun. I still think the killing spree was more out of panic, not planned. If we assume the same procedure was used on Dan as Chloe (which may or may not be true) then we can assume there's no way Lex or the doctor would know whether he was "in or out" as far as joining Lex's army went. I don't think Lex or Bethany had wanted to kill prospective army freaks, but when the laptop was gone, they had to cover up fast.

Or maybe Bethany was just getting revenge because Dan and Tobias both got manly names and he got a girl's name?

I don't think meteor freaks will ever be completely gone from Smallville; meteor rock will always be there.

Very good! I've got this song (or at least the original) on a CD of children's songs that we sometimes play to our 2-year old. I now have a mental image of an aged Lionel Luthor strumming away while he stares wistfully into the campfire, accompanied by Martha Kent pouring out the cocoa.
