  • Six years before the show Arrow, there was the (frankly better) episode "Arrow". And this Green Arrow doesn't go around murdering people on some hit list (let's call it what it actually is). Instead, he favors (non-lethal) trick arrows with knock out gas and taser darts.

This is, of course, not Oliver's first appearance on the show. But it marks his first appearance as the Green Arrow and where he first meets Clark. A thing I liked, watching this and the other episodes leading up to "Justice" ("Run", "Aqua" and "Cyborg"), is that it doesn't feel like the exact same episode repeated four times. Sure, each has Clark encounter a future member of the Justice League, but they all come from different places and are different people. Oliver's the first to wear a suit, but he also comes from a different place than Bart, AC and Victor. He didn't develop powers in his teens and had to adjust to that. He doesn't have unanswered questions about his origin and he isn't a non-consenting test subject to cybernetic experiments.
