Awesome two chapters, Card! Another great way for the Clana to return in Season 6. I just KNOW TPTB will never match the wonderful stories I read here in Clanaland. I love the way Lana kept telling him, "I love you" in many diferent ways, until he couldn't resist any longer. Finally they can be together again. Thanks for this little fic, Card. Now I'll be watching for updates on LH & BR. PPMS on those!

^^^ I second the recommendation!! An epilogue would be nice.

Wonderful story. I've always felt Clark giving Lana up made Jonathan's death invain. *sigh* I don't know that I can explain it right. Everything Clark went through... everything he did... everything he lost...and he lets her go. *sigh*

Anyway, nice little story. I'm glad Lana was persistant and didn't let Clark get away. Beautiful job, Cardinal.

About Clark on the show and Lana in your fic...

          It was sweet and good!

Good work... and yeah an epilogue would be nice... or dare I say the 6 letters word? nah...

Once again good work Card... and like SV said... I'll be waiting for updates on LH and BR... so... Update them soon

Great ending Card - very sweet!

I love the way Lana 'forced' Clark to see the truth. And to be honest, I could never believe you'd end a story in any way other than this.

I have to admit I thought it would be amusing to try to increase the tension level among your readers by questioning where you were going...but it proved an absolute failure, for it seemed everyone else had the same faith in your ultimate destination. Rats!

Although, just a suggestion mind you, you might actually want to try a little of the dark side in a future story...think of the fun...

You wanted an epilogue, so here's a short one.

                    Once Again

                    Epilogue

Clark and Lana sat in the loft of the Kent barn, enjoying the multiple hues set before them. Pinks, purples, and oranges stretched across the sky in irregular bands. The strange thing for them was they were sitting in the opposite end of the barn from Clark’s loft, in a place that used to hold nothing but hay bales.

When Clark and Lana had gotten back together, they had decided that sunsets no longer held any interest for them because they symbolized endings, and both of them had had quite enough of endings, thank you very much. So Clark spent an afternoon at the far end of the barn making a hole that was a duplicate to the one at the other end, right down to the Dutch doors, so they could begin watching sunrises.

Once the sun completed its rise, Clark and Lana began watching each other, both of them grateful that their mutual love and passion, no…hunger for each other remained undimmed by the passage of time.

As Lana’s slippered feet kicked slowly in the early morning air, Clark looked admiringly at the shapely legs poking out from the thick robe she had thrown on so she could hurry outside in time for the sunrise. As his eyes roamed the rest her, he saw that her hair was disheveled, she wore no makeup, and the bulky robe hid the contours of her remarkable body, yet she was still the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen in his life. Of course, love made him see her through rose-colored glasses, so there was little she could do that was wrong.

For her part, she enjoyed the fact that her ‘super’ boyfriend was indifferent to temperature, because he was sitting on the edge of the opening wearing nothing but linen boxers, a sight guaranteed to warm her anytime, day or night. With sharply defined muscles that could inspire a generation of would-be Michelangelos, unruly black locks, and the most amazing blue-green eyes, Lana couldn’t imagine a more beautiful man. Clark hated being called ‘beautiful,’ but handsome just didn’t seem to be a strong enough word to her, so ‘beautiful’ it is.

The sunrise had passed in silence, so when Lana said, “Good morning, Mr. Kent,” it was the first human sounds of their day.

Clark quickly replied, saying, “Good morning yourself, soon-to-be Mrs. Kent” as he moved in for a good morning kiss. Given the direction of the thoughts they had both been having, it was no surprise to either of them when a simple kiss turned into something more. Clark silently congratulated himself for placing a thick, well-padded layer of carpeting all over this end of the barn for just this type of ‘emergency.’

Clark and Lana didn’t get to watch their precious sunrises very often, only when she was in town for a weekend visit, but soon, those early morning sunrise watchings were going to be happening much more often because Lana was graduating in a month, and she had already secured a job in Smallville. Both of them found it slightly humorous that the girl who had wanted nothing more than to leave Smallville and find herself was instead coming home to stay.

From the time Lana completed her move home, she would have one month left to make final preparations for their June wedding. Nell’s help had been invaluable to this point. Clark had even suggested that Lana stay in Metropolis to finish making her plans, but she wouldn’t have it. She had been forced by circumstance to stay away from her man for long enough. She was coming home and that was that.

Lana was going to move directly to the Kent farm, because Clark thought it was stupid for her to have to find temporary living quarters for the one month before the wedding. When he had pointed that out to his mother, she had finally relented and allowed them to ‘cohabitate’ under her roof for the last month.

Clark knew his old bedroom wouldn’t be large enough for the two of them and their clothes, especially Lana’s clothes he had thought with a snort, so he had spent some time and money building an add-on to the house on the side of the house that was furthest from the road. The new bedroom was spacious and filled with sunlight in the mornings. Most of all, it had huge closets.

Finally, the big day arrived. There was Clark waiting at the altar, resplendent in a black tux with a gray vest and striped ascot. Even his hair had cooperated for once, following the commands of his comb by laying down in near-perfect order.

As Wagner’s Bridal March played, Lana made her way down the aisle with a slow, measured step, escorted by her step-uncle, Dean. She was a glowing confection of shimmering silk and lace that Clark could not keep his eyes off of.

Once their vows were exchanged and the ceremony was complete, they headed their reception which turned out to be a raucous celebration of the start of their life together. As they reached their honeymoon suite, Lana groaned about too much rich food, while Clark grumbled about too much dancing. Then, finally alone, they looked at each other and said together, “Too many clothes!”

What a hoot. I am pleasantly surprised and PLEASED you catered to your readers. I mean, this was perfect. So often the Loft has been used for sunsets, yet time and time again, they missed it. When I read that Clark made a new window for a new stage in their lives, I simply smiled and giggled. Absolutely brilliant.

I like a disheveled Lana and a relaxed and barely clothed Clark. You truly give these kids their due and what it would be like had things worked out differently on the show. You are a treasure for your Clana fans and I have been blessed to find a writer that knows, understands and paints true love.

Wonderful Epilogue and beautiful story. Thank you, Cardinal.

That was great, Card. Clark put his abilities to work fixing up a sunrise loft and a new Clana bedroom. Cool. LOL at the "Too much clothes" - but so true for newlyweds to think that way, and Clark & Lana will often think that way, for many years to come, in my opinion. Now happily married. Wonderful! Thanks for the epilogue, Card. Glad you've spent a lot of your vacation writing for us.
