Since this forum is unique to the rest of the boards, we have decided to provide our users with a few extra guidelines here. Please note that the main site rules all still apply.
Games:
We have a lot of posting games on the Culture forum. If you'd like to participate in the games available, take a moment to look through the previous pages to see what games are available to play on.
For anyone wishing to start a new game, make sure it's not something we already have going on.
As of February 13, 2006, we no longer allow any games that consist of people giving one- word or one-number or one-ANYTHING answers. For example: Alphabet games, counting games, timestamp games, last-letter games, spelling words with any odd part of your body, etc.
If you would like to start a new game but aren't sure if there is already one like it or if it's appropriate for the boards, please contact a moderator via PM to discuss it.
If you're not sure who the mods are,
check out the main board rules - there's a list of us right up at the top. =)
Chatting
Just as chatting (i.e., back-and-forth private-message style private conversations) is not allowed on the rest of the boards, chatting is not allowed on any thread in the culture forum except for the most recent Kryptonsite Off-Topic Chat Thread thread. You'll know which is the most recent because it's the only one open. =)
Please do not start other random chat threads or chat-like threads. If you would like to talk about a specific topic, such as current world issues or urban legends or sports, then please check out the The Water Cooler. If you would like to discuss pop-culture such as movies, books, music, arts, video games, etc., then please take the discussion to Media Buzz.
For those who would like to use our forums to rant about something that's bothering them, please feel free to use the Dart Board.
And for those just wanting to express good cheer on something great that has happen you could do so on the Cheers thread.
Posting Milestones
We understand that everyone is excited when they've reached a new Kryptonsite Member Title. The mods here all love the fact that everyone hangs out here and posts to their heart's content, and we love that y'all get a kick out of reaching XYZ number of posts. However.
PLEASE DO NOT START A THREAD JUST TO ANNOUNCE THAT YOU'VE REACHED A POSTING MILESTONE.
We have over 22,000 users. If everyone did that, we would literally have thousands of pages filled with nothing else here in the Ksite Culture forums.
If you want a place to express how happy you are for reaching a new Milestone, then please do so ONLY in our new Posting Milestones, Yay! thread, created for just such that purpose! Please note that personal milestone threads will be closed.... so don't make any.
We hope everyone enjoys themselves here. Please feel free to PM a moderator if you feel there is a problem that needs attention, or just hit the "Report Post" button.
