Ugh, Adric (you're a complete idiot). Nyssa gets a headache and have to sit out the entire story, which showcases the problem of three companions. One has to constantly be taken out of action.

This story marked the first of two appearances by the Mara. Thought it worked a lot better, before they had it manifest as a giant snake. Should've just kept it as a spiritual entity.

The Doctor leaves the sonic screwdriver in the Tardis. Then it was destroyed in the next story, and not restored until the 1996 TV movie.

Jonny Lee Miller makes an appearance as one of the Kinda children.

Snakedance

Thankfully, Adric is no longer there. Instead, we get Martin Clunes in an early role, pre-Men Behaving Badly and Doc Martin.

With Tegan spending the majority of the story possessed by the Mara, the Doctor is down to a more appropriate one companion for the majority of the story.

The appearance of the Mara is once more problematic. It works better, when it's represented through Tegan. They shouldn't have had that snake skull moving and talking onscreen.
