I can't check again until tomorrow*, but it sounded like the machine they used to get into the memories was from the Summerholt Institute on Earth 221.

The Summerholt Neurological Institute was introduced in season 2 of Smallville and was featured prominently in a few episodes after that. As far as I can tell, it has never been referenced in the comics.

Not sure what the Earth 221 is a reference to (if it had been 217, I'd say it was the number of Smallville episodes). But I was pleasantly surprised to hear that reference in the episode tonight.

* - I don't have a DVR and was watching it live as it aired. I can't watch it again until it appears online on the CW website/app.

Ok, so it was Jervis Tetch/Mad Hatter who was from Earth 221. But still, it was definitely the Summerholt Institute where the memory machine was from, which they didn't say what Earth that was.
