I really enjoyed the first season of The Umbrella Academy. I’m ready for S2 but, I’ll settle for it’s renewal first. It was a quirky entertaining comic book story...which unfolded quite interestingly with the flashbacks and the time travel eliminates. I also really liked the soundtrack to the series.

it was entertaining and I am interested in how they handle the second season. I was just a little creeped out about the romantic interest between adopted siblings thing...not that The Flash didn’t basically do that :/.

There are some differences from the comics apparently...I wonder if they will go down the same route about their fathers backstory...though the flashback in the finale might be suggestive of that.

I binged this series not too long ago. I enjoyed it. I tried reading the comics a long time ago but don't remember anything from them so this was all pretty new to me.

I especially enjoyed Ellen Page as Vanya and Aidan Gallagher as Five. They were both great.

And yes, the soundtrack is terrific.

Looking forward to Season 2 when that comes out. I do wonder if we'll start out with them all as children again (I"m sure we'll be bringing back the adult versions at some point)?

Season 2 has begun production, as can be seen in this video with the cast (minor spoilers, so be advised!).

I am literally halfway through Season 2 (in the middle of episode 5, of 10 total) and it's been really good so far.

The season was fantastic and that ending.... was obvious but, still a great cliffhanger. They need to renew it ASAP cause it’s more than likely that we won’t see a S3 until sometime in 2022 (at the earliest).

                      I finally finished Season 2!

First, I had been spoiled about some of the ending. I knew about
The Sparrow Academy and Ben being alive
and had figured out that the Hagreeves
made it back to their own time. Well, back to 2019, anyway
.

I enjoyed it but some of it was very predictable
called it that Vanya and Sissy would not be together
. I didn't care for the
meeting of the Fives
, though the stuff with Luther and that was funny.

Also the reveal about Lila surprised me. I'm glad they are doing something with the
other special kids out of the 43
.

I was a bit mad that the sibs
didn't help Vanya out when she asked them to but then they assembled at the car and all was forgiven
.

Oh and I keep seeing surprise from fans that Reginald is an alien? I mean, we knew that from season 1, didn't we? I mean, when we saw him on his other planet (where his wife/girlfriend died?) and he came to Earth? I keep seeing people "oh, can't believe Reginald was an alien all along!" If not basically stated it was, at least, heavily implied that he was. At least to me. Anyone else?

So yeah, good Season and can't wait for Season 3 (though is poor Five ever going to be able to get out of that uniform?! LOL).

The series has been renewed for a 3rd season!!!🥳😁...with production to start in February. I’m optimistically hopeful but, cautious due to so many series’ getting their season renewals just to have them reversed days or weeks later.

I saw the news and am not surprised (nor do I fear cancellation), as the show is consistently one of Netflix's top ten for ratings.

Introducing the Members of The Sparrow Academy:

For starters, it should come as no surprise that series vet Justin H. Min, who plays Ben, is now playing Sparrow #2 (as teased at the close of Season 2). “This is not the sweet Ben we know and love,” reads his teaser. “This Ben is a Machiavellian tactician, wrapped up in a pretty boy body with a rumbling inner-squid. Vicious, pragmatic, and hyper-vigilant, Ben is determined to gain his status as the leader at all costs.”

                            As for the brand-new faces….

Justin Cornwell (The InBetween, CBS’ Training Day) will play Marcus aka Sparrow #1, a “charming, chiseled, colossus. Honest, virtuous, and demanding, Marcus keeps the family together. Graceful but lethal, calculated but compassionate, he is as smart as he is strong. Marcus is disciplined, rational and in control. He oozes confidence and leadership without ever having to raise his voice.”

Britne Oldford (The Flash, The Path) will play Fei aka Sparrow #3, who “sees the world in a special way. She comes across as a misanthrope who would rather be alone than spend even a second with you. But truth be told, Fei wishes she had a friend. Most of the time, Fei is the smartest person in the room and willing to work things out. But if you cross her there’s no looking back because Fei won’t stop until the job is done.”

Jake Epstein (Designated Survivor, Suits) will play Alphonso aka Sparrow #4. “Years of crime fighting have left his face and body with countless visual reminders of his battles,” says his teaser. “To compensate, Alphonso is armed with a caustic and biting sense of humor. The only thing he likes better than verbally battering anyone foolish enough to get in his face, is a good pizza and a six-pack of beer.”

Genesis Rodriguez (The Fugitive, Time After Time) will play Sloane aka Sparrow #5, “a romantic and a dreamer who feels a higher cosmic calling leaving her eager to see the world and experience a life beyond her upbringing. But obligations to her family keep Sloane tethered to the Academy, as does her fear of crossing the family line. But Sloane has plans… and one day she might just be brave enough to act on them.”

Cazzie David (Eighty-Sixed miniseries star/creator) will play Jayme aka Sparrow #6, “a loner hidden under a hoodie. She doesn’t say much because she doesn’t have to. Jayme has a fear-inducing snarl. Catch a glimpse of it, and you’ll run across the street to avoid what follows. Smart and sharp as a knife, she spends most of her time hanging with Alphonso, her only friend.”

And last, but not least…. TV “newcomer” Dread-Inducing Psykronium Cube will fill the role of Christopher aka Sparrow #7, “a telekinetic cube of unknown origin. He can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear. He acts as the Sparrows’ consulted oracle who hands out incredible advice and serves as the family mediator. Trustworthy, loyal, and is treated by the Sparrows like any other sibling, Christopher is a force to be reckoned with.”

I don't know how long season 3 will be, but hopefully it's relatively short like the first 2 seasons. The storylines benefitted from the lack of padding and additional arcs that can taint shows that have over 20 episodes in a season.
