I think all things in the man of steel movie catching fire when entering earth's atmosphere, except superman catch no fire. For example when he try to catch up with the escape pot with Lois inside, the escape pot catch fire but not superman....LOL. I never took attention to that in other superman movies, so is it the same?
A side note Zod’s cape burns because of the burning oil tanker but superman’s cape never catch fire. Maybe this side note already was explained in the early days, he has a special cape?, but the other remark still stands I guess.
