If they would've remained a couple, IMO their situation would have gotten worse than what we saw in Wrath -the best example we can find-, so it was a blessing in disguise. Lana wasn't mentally or physically prepared (as her trainer in "Power" told her, but she didn't listen *she never does until it's too late*), and with time all of it would've taken its toll on her. I've always thought that Lana needed therapy *no joke*. I think Clark too...due to all the trauma of their relationship.
