Ya i didnt think this episode was that great for a premiere. It felt as if it were a filler and we didnt really get a exciting premiere like we usually do. Felt like we were thrown into something we didnt fully get any detials about.

Btw did anyone else not get to see the promo for next week? On the local affiliate here it did the whole message telling us to stay tuned for scenes from next week's ep. Then it went to an ad for Jane The Virgin and a car commercial and then the news started here. I get Flash ran long but would it have really hurt the network to wait another minute or two so we could see what we fans were gonna see next week? Did that happen to anyone else?

So I have to admit, I was kind of 'meh' coming into Season 10. In thinking about this past week I guess it's just because Season 9 didn't wow me much? It made me not as enthusiastic as usual for the premiere.

Then I watched it. And wow, it was really good, IMO!

Pat Benatar for "The Road So Far"? That was surprise.

Sam torturing the demon girl, collecting blood (anyone else wonder if it was so he could drink it? I feared we'd see his blood addiction rise again).

new title card. I really like this one, in fact, I'm thinking it's the best one yet. Pretty.

Dean left a note? "Sammy let me go" Hmmm.

Cas and the coughing. I get that he's losing his grace but what, that gave him the flu or something? Weird.

Dean doing karaoke was just cute. And I'm going to go shallow here and say that that hairstyle really works for Dean (Jensen). He looks mighty fine there.

Dean back to his one night stand ways.

Who else was all "oh he didn't just--!" when he did the "jerk" "b****" with Crowley. That's for Sam!

Dean wailing on that dude. Is it me or was that indicator that Dean still has his 'protective' instincts? That somewhere is still that 'if you hurt people I care about, I will hurt you' attitude that is so very Dean.

Abaddon's followers gunning for Dean? And turns out Crowley was sending them. Huh.

Sam seeing black eyes, knowing Dean's a demon. And getting the wrong idea. Oh Sam.

Sam and Crowley's phone call. Nice callback to the "dog" and Amelia (seeing as how, yes, Sam did leave Dean to rot in Purgatory and walked away, it was nice to see them acknowledge that, even in passing).

"I will save my brother or die trying." Oh, Carver! Thank you for giving us back 'Sam' but this totally screwed up Sam leaving Dean in purgatory now. *shakes head*

Sam tracking the call, Crowley fessing up, and Sam not driving Baby? I had thought Dean left it behind but guess not. I was surprised he was driving that new car when there only classics at the Bunker (I think?).

Dean drinking montage was fun. Can Dean even get drunk anymore? And the conversation with the girl was a very nice little moment. A bit of Dean's self-loathing showing through and all. Lovely.

Girl fight between angels and Cas kills the one, to save Hannah. The angel storyline...seems a bit played out. They need to just straighten Heaven up or something. I know they have to work Cas in somehow but we've had how many seasons of civil war or unrest in Heaven? Time to resolve it.

The guy hunting Dean. Yeah, not that interested (it was the thing that kept this from getting a 10 from me, on the poll).

Dean doing his best Liam Neeson from "Taken" with that "I will kill you" speech.

And that's how we leave it. Like I said, this drew me in. I loved the pacing (except I felt it bogged down a little with the angel stuff), the banter was back and yet there was a sense of darkness without being too gloomy. A great start to season 10, IMO.

I thought that Dean did the Taken speech at the end! Wasnt sure at first.

The premier felt a little slow for me. I feel like the angel drama is getting old. How many seasons are we going to see angels killing each other?

I think, once in a while, season premieres doesn't have to show gasps in every turn. This premiere, I felt, was a nice intro to the new season while obviously already setting up a lot for the season so far.
