Okay this maybe an out there idea to connect a few things. Say this Lex being in a gang rumour is correct what if that gang turned out to be Intergang?. You can therefore bring Intergang in and you can play up the Darkseid connections building up to a Justice League movie. Like how they seem to be acquirnig new powerful weapons etc etc.
