Nathaniel Buzolic casting for TVD pilot

On this YouTube channel Natebuzz2012 (KOLS answers.m4v) Nathaniel Buzolic talks about him almost being cast as a TVD regular when the show started before being cast as an Original 3 years later.

Does anybody know for what role he was being considered?


EDIT: Ok, found out myself. He was one of eleven actors for the role of Stefan which went to Paul.

I could actually kind of see Nate playing Stefan. I feel bad for Paul Wesley. He is too talented of an actor to play a character that is stuck in a disgusting love triangle with Damon and Elena.
