Why does Lois hate slides?

I understand this is a really random question and quite pointless.

But while trapped in Tess' office Lois comes across her hidden slide (that I believe we first saw in the Checkmate story arc) and uses it to escape from her VRA interrogation. As Lois is about to jump into the slide she mentions she hates slides.

My question being, is there a real reason why Lois hates slides in Smallville canon or in the larger Superman lore? Or was this just a throw away line for a little Lois comedic effect?

There is no reason given. I think it was just for comedic effect. Sort of like Indiana Jones being thrown into a pit of snakes, when he hates snakes.

Well The Last Crusade sort of adresses this with young Indy falling into a train cart full of snakes.
