In New Zealand we've just finnished season 8 of smallville and i did realise it was on untill it was too late!
ive just finnished completing the entire series up untill season 7.
so i was just wondering:
What happens to kara?! is she in like the 1 episode of season 8 untill she leaves?
and!
when i realised smallville was actually on tv here they were saying Lex is dead! but he was in the season final of 7
im sorry that you all think im am so slow but season 8 isnt coming out on dvd here untill like next year and i cant wait that long!

Kara was in the phantom Zone Brainiac put her there. We didn't find that out until Episode 8 of season 8. At the end of the episode she decided to leave to look for the missing city Kandor.

As for Lex, Oliver allegedly "killed" him. But the producers said that he is not dead but the characters think he is.
