When he called Jack he looked beaten and bloody, well, I think he tried to and probably succeeded in killing Penelope. He calling from a phone near the docks and we know Penny was living on Desmond's boat. I really hope he didn't get to Penny, maybe she and Desmond just beat him up instead, but he did swear to Widmore he would get revenge for Alex's death.

Oh my goodness... He WAS by the docks, wasn't he? EEK! I hope this doesn't mean he killed Penny. I will be SOOOOOO mad if that's the case, and if so, he totally deserves the butt-whooping he'll get from both Desmond and Charles Widmore.
